Four internationally known children's books authors and illustrators will be at the Visalia Convention Center on Monday, May 12. There will be three events

• 9:30 AM-12:00 noon Teen-age parents from TAPP programs around Tulare County
• 1:30-3:00 Heart Program students from Tulare County Schools and students from George McCann School
• 6:30-8:30 Parents and Children - this event is free to the public

Books by these authors will be on sale at the event at bargain prices. Please bring cash or checks.

Author/Illustrators who will present:                             

Ashley Wolff is one of the best loved illustrators of children's books. Her books in the Miss Bindergarten series are perennial favorites. She is the author and illustrator of several books for children, including Me Baby, You Baby, Stella and Roy, and board books The Baby Chicks are Singing and Oh, the Colors.
Yuyi Morales has won two Pura Belpré awards for her illustrations in Harvesting Hope: the Story of Cesar Chavez and Just a Minute: a Trickster Tale and Counting Book. Her illustrations have been compared to the great Mexican Muralists of the 20th century.
Thacher Hurd grew up writing and illustrating children's books. He is the award-winning author of Mama Don't Allow, Art Dog, Sleepy Cadillac, and most recently Moo Cow Kaboom! He has also written two board books, Cat's Pajamas and Zoom City.
Joe Cepeda is the illustrator of many children's picture books, plus the popular "Freddy the Golden Hamster" series for 3rd-5th grade readers. He has written and illustrated one book himself, The Swing, which is the story of  Josie, a girl who finds all the things her family has lost in a tree in her yard.
